Bridging The Gap's Lunch PAD & Clothing Giveaway
Masjid Al-Taqwa initiates and supports efforts that benefit the community we are situated in. We have been the site of Bridging The Gap’s (BTG) Lunch PAD and Clothing Giveaway since 2012.
BTG is a non-profit 501(c)3 which organizes volunteers to assemble and package lunches and collect clothing which it passes out to the community on the first and third Saturday of every month.


S.U.N. Taqwa Theater Ensemble
Under the Direction of Sr. Zakiyyah El-Amin, an award winning Playwright, Director and Drama Instructor–the S.U.N./Taqwa Theater Ensemble engages the young and the young at heart and produces and performs original works ranging from Oratory, Skits, and full plays.
Participants have the opportunity to learn stage direction, performance methods, set design, and more.

Arabic & Islamic Studies
Associate Imam & Director of Education, Rabbani Mubashshir conducts weekly Qur’anic Arabic and Islamic Studies classes from 9am to 11am on Sunday’s. Classes are offered free of charge.


Taqwa Islamic Dance Ensemble (T.I.D.E.)
Train and learn Islamic and ethnic interpretive
dance routines to perform at Muslim events
Training is held every 1st and 3rd Saturday each month beginning
Saturday February 17, 2018 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am
At Masjid Al-Taqwa, 8211 S. Exchange, Chicago, Illinois
Sisters ages 8 years and up
Donation: $5.00 per class per person (a pay as you go program)
Attire: workout clothing, 1 bottle of water, socks or bare feet

Men Of Taqwa (Outreach)
Chaired by Dr. Lionel Allen, jr, the Men Of Taqwa (M.O.T.) is the Community Outreach arm of Masjid Al-Taqwa whose primary focus is to develop bonds of brotherhood through the mobilization and education of men as they join in the service of their communities.
